Chicago Botanic Garden

This was the beautiful backdrop for the 2010 AHTA Conference. The first day consisted of field trips to several hort therapy gardens, networking with people from all over the country.

Hines Hospital

The first project we visited was the Hines Hospital, a residential living facilitiy for disabled vets. At right is the peace garden that was created on site.

Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital Rooftop Garden

In the afternoon, we visited the inspiring rooftop garden atop the Schwab Rehab Center. They employ a full-time hort therapist on-site to run their horticultural therapy program.
